VII Psychiatria Dialogi Interdyscyplinarne

On October 11–12, 2024, Paweł Hanus from Łukasiewicz – PORT attended the local medical conference VII Psychiatria Dialogi Interdyscyplinarne, which focused on addressing challenges and innovations in diagnosing, treating, and supporting individuals with mental disorders through an interdisciplinary lens.

The program covered a range of topics, including mental health care for pregnant women with schizophrenia, the psychological effects of menopause, strategies for managing treatment-resistant depression, the therapeutic application of hypnosis, and the clinical and legal aspects of psychoactive substance intoxication. Discussions also explored pain management in depression and diagnostic complexities in distinguishing chronic stress from anxiety disorders.

Particularly valuable were sessions on long-term support for patients in remission from schizophrenia and the legal considerations in treating individuals with co-occurring psychiatric and somatic conditions. The event provided an excellent opportunity for Paweł to connect with local and national experts in psychiatry, many of whom expressed interest in collaborating with the neurobiological research community at Łukasiewicz – PORT. The conference underscored the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in enhancing the quality of mental health care.
