Jakub Chwastek at the Basic Stereotaxic Neurosurgery Training

Jakub Chwastek -Basic Stereotaxic Neurosurgery Training

On June 23–24, 2025, Jakub Chwastek had the opportunity to attend a hands-on course organized by Lab Animal Training in Berlin.
The training focused on advanced neurosurgical techniques such as GRIN lens implantation and cranial window assembly—powerful methods that enable intravital imaging of functional changes in virtually any area of the mouse brain.

The course provided in-depth, practical instruction on the entire surgical process, including pre- and post-operative care, miniscope (miniature microscope) mounting, and preparation for successful in vivo imaging.
The combination of high-quality theoretical sessions and immersive hands-on training made this a highly valuable experience. Jakub is excited to apply these new skills to enhance the experimental capabilities of his lab.
