School of excellence
In April 2025, Ewa Mrówczyńska attended two meetings organized by the Gordon Research Conferences in Ventura, California, USA: the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) from April 5–6 and the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) from April 6–11. These events focused on the application of functional genomics to understand human brain development and disease.
The GRS was an excellent opportunity for Ewa to meet other early-career researchers and exchange ideas in a friendly and supportive environment. During the GRS, she presented a poster showcasing the in vitro platform developed as part of the SAME-NeuroID project. Discussing her work in person allowed her to gain new perspectives and receive valuable suggestions she had not considered before.
The main GRC was a larger event that gathered experts from many fields interested in how genes shape brain development and contribute to disease. Ewa was honored to be selected from among the submitted abstracts to give a short talk presenting the SAME-NeuroID project during the conference.
This opportunity significantly increased the visibility of Łukasiewicz–PORT research. Attending both meetings also contributed greatly to Ewa’s development as an early-career scientist. Being surrounded by so many passionate researchers was inspiring and demonstrated the wide range of approaches used in brain research.
Overall, this experience gave her renewed motivation and energy to continue her work and served as a meaningful culmination of the effort devoted to the project.
With a relentless pursuit of knowledge, we unravel the complexities of the mind, unraveling the mysteries that hinder mental well-being. Join us as we pave the way for breakthroughs in neuroscience and offer hope for a brighter future
