conference
„From April 6th to 8th, I had the exciting opportunity to attend the Cell Symposia: Neurometabolism in Health and Disease in Shenzhen – a international conference co-organized by Elsevier, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Max Planck Institute in Cologne” – said Jakub Chwastek – Young Investigator from Łukasiewicz – PORT.
The event provided an in-depth exploration of a research area central to our laboratory’s focus: the neural regulation of appetite and metabolic processes. Over the course of the conference, Jakub attended talks from some of the world’s foremost neuroscientists, gaining valuable insights into the neural mechanisms that govern hunger, food preferences, and energy balance. The sessions also showcased cutting-edge tools in metabolic research and explored innovative therapeutic strategies for combating obesity.

During event was presented around 100 scientific posters. Jakub had the chance to share their own recent work through a poster titled “Hormetic curve of dietary mono- and disaccharide content determines weight gain, gut microbiota composition and cognitive ability in mice.”
Beyond the science, the conference offered a fantastic platform for idea exchange and networking—crucial for fostering future international partnerships and keeping our research at the forefront of the field.
With a relentless pursuit of knowledge, we unravel the complexities of the mind, unraveling the mysteries that hinder mental well-being. Join us as we pave the way for breakthroughs in neuroscience and offer hope for a brighter future
